While we've been gone, harvest time has clearly begun. Apparently children are the bumper crop here. School began again today after the break. The kids weren't anxious to return, and neither were we, but it was good to see all of our teacher friends and hear reports on their holidays - some variety on fixing the house and lying around.
The irony of Marthame's family traveling hither and yon is that they have far more freedom than people here do in their own homeland. Elizabeth's adult class resumed, too, but there were only two students as many people extended the vacation time by a few days on either side. There hasn't been any shooting in a while, which is good, though the situation in Gaza coming across on the television these days doesn't give us much hope.
