This morning on our way to school there was a stunning rainbow - it stopped us in our tracks, as well as many of the students - the first time one has ever seemed this close and the first time we've even seen one from end to end!
There was little time to contemplate it, though, as the rain started up again. The word for "rain" in Arabic is the word they use for the season of "winter." Almost every night there's a downpour, which is good news for the farmers and for our view - but bad news for our body temperatures and lack of central heat.
