Sunday afternoon is when the children of the parish gather for games out in front of the church under the watchful eye of the sisters. There is a project underway to help turn the old school building into a village hall so that such ministries can thrive (particularly in winter time).
We were also excited to have an afternoon visit from the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Bishop Michel Sabbah. He has been very active these days visiting most of the parishes in the West Bank and assessing the situation - particularly in heavy-hit Christian towns like Beit Jala and Beit Sahour. He shared tragic stories of Christian families losing their homes and savings to Israeli rockets.
